Donna Banes is a graduate of Moorestown High School and Glassboro State College with degrees in Special Education, Elementary Education, Early Childhood and Reading Specialist. She grew up at FUMC singing in choirs since she was 5. Donna started studying piano at the age of six and began studying the organ as a Freshman in High School with John L. Wilson and then furthered her study for 15 years with Glenn L Rodgers. Along with a 35-year career in Education, Donna held the position of Organist and Choirmaster at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Haddon Heights. She has also substituted regularly in the South Jersey and Philadelphia area. In addition, Donna was the accompanist for the New Jersey Methodist Chorale on tours to Europe and has assisted with both domestic and European tours with the Youth Handbell Choir of FUMC. She is very excited to be the Music Co-Director for FUMC; directing Youth Choir, Adult Choir, Adult and Youth Handbell choirs, and assisting with the Children’s Choirs. The position also includes that of organist and overseeing the Music Events.
