Volunteers with gifts of service are wanted to create a vital worship experience.
Acolytes carry the cross and light the candles at the 11 am service. The youth receive special training and function under the direction of the Pastor. Acolytes enjoy numerous social events throughout the year. For further information please contact Cheryl Haegele.
Assistance is needed in the church office in preparing, folding, and stuffing bulletins for weekend worship services.
Chancel guilders hang seasonal paraments and banners, keep candles filled, and create an inspiring atmosphere in the Sanctuary, Chapel and Narthex.
Communion Stewards set and clean up the communion elements for all four Worship services on the first weekend of the month.
Communion Usher Teams
A communion usher team assists the congregation in going to and from the communion rail and, at the 11 am service, serves communion to those who cannot go forward to the communion rail. Communion ushers are needed on the first Sunday of the month during the Communion Service at the 9:30 and 11:00 AM services.
Individuals are wanted to contact and schedule FUMC community members to provide for flowers each Sunday. These individuals are also responsible for following up with the local florist to ensure delivery.
Greeters welcome worshipers to the 11AM Service and assist worshipers in navigating the facility. Greeters are also need to assist at the Welcome Center before the 9:30 and 11:00 services and for special events.
The head greeter recruits and schedules families and individuals to serve as a Greeter(s).
Signers are trained individuals who can participate in the signing ministry at the 9:30 am service.
Sound system operators manage the sound system and record the services at 9:30 and 11:00 AM Worship Services held in the Sanctuary. Sound system operators also serve at special events.
Ushers greet individuals, distribute the Bulletins, accept the collection and generally assist at Worship Services and special events. Ushers are needed at all Worship Services (5:30 PM Saturday and 8:30, 9:30 and 11:00 AM on Sunday).
Welcome Center – The Worship Committee is responsible for the Welcome Center in the Narthex and the Sunday School wing each Sunday. The church members who volunteer in both areas answer questions asked by visitors, as well as hand out printed information about various church and community opportunities and activities. Church members who volunteer do not have to be on the Worship Committee. Darlene Mocelo coordinates this ministry and also volunteers at both locations.
