Servants’ Roundtable

The Servants’ Roundtable is an umbrella for the ministries serving our congregation and nearby communities.  Through quarterly gatherings the leaders share joys and concerns, and through prayer and sharing encourage mutual support for each others’ ministries.

Abba’s Animals A pet & animal rescue ministry that delivers donations of food, blankets, cat litter,  etc., to rescue organizations; tracks low/no cost spay/neuter clinics; volunteering at local animal shelters & providing foster homes.  
Barrels of Blessings In coordination with The Waymakers, Inc., collects toys, food & clothing, as well as purchased dolls and hand-sewn dresses to send to Ghana for Christmas.  
Blood Drive Work with the Red Cross to coordinate & host three annual blood drives; October and March in Fellowship Hall and June at the Moorestown Library.  
Card Sending Ministry Sends monthly greeting cards to members of the congragation who are ill, shut-in or at a nursing facility.  
Christmas Angel Tree Names of children and gift wishes are provided by a charity. Congregation members purchase & donate the items which are delivered to the designated charity.  
Cool Air Ministry Designed to help those in need of cool air during the summer months. Fans or air conditioners are provided to those who have an unexpected need.   
Crafts for Good Makes craft items to give to various charities & missions – fleece blankets, scarves & hats, fleece-stuffed bears, pillowcases, and dog toys for animal shelters. All items are made with a particular organization to receive it. Last Tuesday of the month from 7–8:30 p.m. in the Heritage Room. 
Crop Walk In conjunction with other Moorestown churches, raises awareness for hunger gifting programs in our community & around the world.  Annual Event held in May. 2017 crop walk is  5/7/17.
Divorce Care Ministers to those experiencing divorce or separation. Weekly on Wednesday from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in Room F102 (three-13 week sessions).
DivorceCare4Kids (DC4K) A safe, fun place where children (ages 5-12) can learn skills that will help them heal. DC4K groups blend games, music, stories, videos and discussion to help kids process the divorce and move forward. 13-week sessions are held once per year, usually in the fall and meet weekly on Wednesday from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in Room E-204.
Door Step Ministry Volunteers are notified by email & deliver welcome gift bags to first time attenders who live in the area.  The gift bag includes a letter of welcome & a church coffee mug, magnet, etc. A follow-up phone call is made after delivery.  
Eyes of Our Hearts Helps feed the homeless in Camden on the third Saturday of each month. The group meets at 7:00 a.m. at FUMC & carpools to the Seeds of Hope Ministries in Camden.  Volunteers donate, prepare & serve breakfast items.  
First Place for Health  A Christian weight-loss and healthy living program that addresses mental, emotional, physical & spiritual aspects to create a whole & healthy person. Weekly on Thursday from 9 – 11 a.m. in the Heritage Room. Childcare provided.
Food Pantry Collects and distributes canned & shelf stable food items which are distributed to three food pantries in the area, as well as kept on hand for those in need at FUMC.  
Funeral Luncheon Committee Funeral luncheon coordination.  
Grief Support Provides a safe and non-judgmental setting for those who have lost loved ones to share their feelings and receive support and guidance as they grieve. Group sessions are held periodically.
Grounds for Good Monthly coffeehouse with live music and art exhibits that provides community fellowship and, through voluntary contributions, supports specifically selected, usually local, charities. Monthly October thru June. Usually the 1st Friday at 7:30 p.m., Fellowship Hall
Heaven’s Cheer Volunteers visit homes & nursing facilities, and make phone calls to provide support to folks who are lonely, struggling & need a little TLC. As needed.
IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network) FUMC provides temporary housing for homeless families for one week, four times per year. Volunteers provide meals, act as dinner & overnight hosts, and set-up and break down. No meetings. Next hosting event is April 10-16. Sign-up is posted in narthex.
Light Harbor Volunteers visit residents of the Mt. Laurel Center the third Sunday of each month to lead a church service with prayer, hymns & scripture. Devotionals and Bibles are distributed upon request. Second Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in Room F-103
Martha’s Hands Prepares and delivers meals for church members who are ill, following surgery, new baby or death in the family. Depending on how many meals need to be provided volunteers are called to set up a meal schedule.  
My Abba’s Hands Creates quilted items to give comfort to our congregation and community. Every second Friday & Saturday. Friday from 7 – 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Room F105 from September through May.
Peach Festival Annual festival with all things peaches. Held on the church grounds and Fellowship hall in September.  
Prayer and Pilates Encourages a bit of exercise with a time of prayer. Monday and Wednesday from 5:50 – 6:30 pm in the Heritage Room.
Single and Parenting A DVD-based study that offers tips and parenting wisdom that will help single parents find rest, hope and encouragement. Two-13 wk. sessions. Weekly on Monday from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in Room F102. Childcare provided.
Stephen Ministry A one-to-one confidential, distinctly Christian lay caring ministry that reaches out to individuals experiencing a difficult time in life First Tuesday of each month from 7 – 9:30 p.m. in rooms 201-204
The Serving Plate Monthly dinner to provide fellowship to the widowers in our church community. Second Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.
Thanksgiving Food Collection Specific food items are collected and distributed to the local food banks for families in the neighboring communities.  
Unemployed Ministry Connects adults at FUMC and in the community who are unemployed with resources for employment, a postitive attitude & socialization. Variable; aiming for one per month at FUMC.
