Glenn Rodgers

Director of Music

Glenn Rodgers, a graduate of Westminster Choir College and Temple University, has served as organist in churches in Philadelphia, Miami, and Wilmington, Delaware. For the past 29 years, however, he has been busy as Organist and Director of Music and Fine Arts at the First United Methodist Church of Moorestown, New Jersey. There he guides a comprehensive and innovative ministry including handbell choirs, children's musical dramas, contemporary praise bands and singers, a 40-voice choir, fine art displays, and a concert series. His Youth Handbell Choir has performed on tour since 1989 and has traveled to such places as England, Italy and Germany. He has directed choirs in large cathedrals as well as small town halls and, of course, many parish churches. One beloved event that has taken place at the church for the past 29 years during Advent is an innovative Community-Sing of Handel’s Messiah which draws hundreds from near and far.

A pianist since the age of five, and an organist from the age of thirteen, Glenn is well-known for his creative programming in his recitals where repertoire for both instruments is featured. He has also served as Dean in local chapters of the American Guild of Organists and is often called upon to lead workshops and to perform special concerts for his colleagues.
